Abundance of food at upcoming import expo
Food and agricultural product companies at the third 注册送38元体验金的网站 will exhibit more products and hold more activities to attract visitors.
The food and agricultural products section this year will cover an exhibition area of nearly 10,000 square meters, with more than a thousand companies from nearly a hundred countries taking part as exhibitors. Among them will be nearly 300 Fortune Global 500 enterprises and industry leaders.
Exhibits in the area include six categories — vegetables, fruit and agricultural products; beverages and alcohol; meat, aquatic products and frozen food; snack food, sweets and condiments; and comprehensive food.
The CIIE, to be held from November 5 to 10, aims to create a communication platform for upstream and downstream integration of the food industry, especially for foreign enterprises, leading to healthy and sustainable development of the food industry, according to Zhou Lingyan, deputy general manager of exhibition department at the 注册送38元体验金的网站 Bureau.
The food and agricultural exhibition area will focus more on health this year with more products to enhance immunity or which are environmentally friendly.
A variety of activities will be held at booths in the exhibition area. Enterprises have so far applied for 1,043 activities, including tastings, performances and promotions.
Winners of the Bakery World Cup will be present at the expo to display their skills.
A special dairy industry committee has been set up to build a platform for dairy enterprises, especially international enterprises, to strengthen communication and coordination and solve common challenges.
Six of the world's top foreign dairy companies are taking part in the CIIE.
European multinational food products corporation Danone SA, for example, will showcase its plant-based sports plant protein powder and high-end organic plant-based beverages.
"We added our investment in China by 100 million euros (US$117 million), including setting up special nutrition production bases in Qingdao and Wuxi as well as setting up an open research and development center in Shanghai," said Zhou Zhigang, vice president of Danone China. "These investments demonstrate Danone’s commitment to the Chinese market and its confidence in the growth potential of the Chinese market."
Fonterra Co-operative Group from New Zealand, which will take part in the expo for the third year, will exhibit more new products at a booth double the size of those at previous events.
During the second expo, Fonterra signed cooperation agreements with leading enterprises in various industries in China, including Alibaba Group, New Hope Group, Xiamen C&D Corporation and Champion Pizza, with a total value of more than 18.2 billion yuan.
"Through the platform of the CIIE, we not only hope to communicate with more domestic and foreign enterprises and deepen cooperation with business partners, but also expect to further enhance our popularity in the Chinese market, to show our advanced dairy production technology and experience and share high-quality dairy products with Chinese consumers," said Han Li, vice president of Fonterra China.
The Sino-French Agri-food Council, a non-profit association, meanwhile, has gathered eight of France's leading dairy companies and four of France's leading fruit and vegetable producers and exporters to exhibit their products.
The food and agricultural product section has already seen many enterprises signing up for the fourth CIIE.
